Citrus College Dugout – A Year Later
Edition 12 | April 18, 2025
Over a year ago, we completed the FirmeCrete installation at the Citrus College baseball facility—specifically in the dugout entrance, a zone exposed to some of the toughest real-world wear: daily traffic from college athletes in metal baseball cleats.
📍 Project Scope:
The design features a bold “CITRUS” graphic in our Blue integral color, honed with Blue glass and aggregate exposure for a high-contrast, architectural finish.
⚾ Real-World Conditions:
This isn’t your average foot traffic. This walkway sees metal cleats pounding it up to six days a week—with full-sized, college-age athletes sprinting, pivoting, and grinding it into the surface.
🎥 Condition After One Year:
As of our recent site visit April 16, 2025, the FirmeCrete coating has held up impressively. While the exposed glass and blue pigment have lightened from cleat abrasion, the surface integrity remains strong.
✅ No peeling.
✅ No spalling.
✅ No failure.
Just authentic patina from use—a badge of durability for a product designed to last.

Concrete With A Message Saddleback College’s Core Values
At Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Ca. The newly upgraded quad, four timeless values—CULTURE, INTEGRITY, TRUTH, and KNOWLEDGE—are now embedded in concrete using FirmeCrete’s FLOOR MIX in the lettering.
Ramirez Company (RCCI) poured the site concrete, and used foam block-outs to shape each word into the architectural top cast finish. FirmeCrete then came in and filled the letters and exposed the finish with FirmeCrete’s signature sanded texture for contrast and durability.
Designed to withstand campus foot traffic while reinforcing the college’s mission, this install proves that concrete can both communicate and endure.
