Crafted to Impress: Honed FirmeCrete Excellence
Global Construction has set a new standard for craftsmanship and innovation, completing an extraordinary 2,000-square-foot honed FirmeCrete Floor Coating project. What makes this installation remarkable isn’t just the impeccable finish—it’s how the process pushed the boundaries of traditional concrete coatings.
Breaking the Mold: Pouring Large Aggregate at Just ½” Inch Thick!
One of the standout elements of this project was the use of aggregate sizes ranging from #2 to #5 (1”–2” inches thick). Typically, such large aggregates are challenging to integrate into thin layers. However, Global Construction achieved the seemingly impossible by pouring the floor at a mere ½-inch thickness. This precise execution demonstrates the versatility of FirmeCrete Coatings, which continues to exceed industry expectations for design flexibility and performance.
The floor underwent a polishing process to achieve its stunning honed finish:
- Metal Blade Grinding: The surface was cut using 30/40 grit metal blades, followed by 60/80 grit metals.
- Firme Pads for Finesse: Our #30 Grit Firme Pads were used to eliminate scratches left by the 60/80 metal blades. This step highlights the unique advantage of Firme Pads, designed specifically for seamless integration with FirmeCrete Coatings.
- To complete the process, the floor was sealed with FirmeCrete Protector, enhancing its durability, resistance to wear, and aesthetic appeal.
